Abstract
The compressor is an air compressor in the engine room of a ship is an auxiliary aircraft on the ship that functions as an auxiliary aircraft to get air to mpa which is tamping in the air vessel, for air to start the main engine and auxiliary motor. The air bottle plays a vital role in providing the air supply needed for various purposes on the ship. The method used in this paper is qualitative data, data that I obtained from officers and crew members of the engine section. However, maintenance errors in air compressors can result in a variety of problems, ranging from slow charging and noise that can propagate damage to the equipment. In this paper, we explore effective maintenance practices for air compressors to ensure smooth filling of air bottles on board. We also explore some of the factors that affect the performance of air compressors and provide recommendations to improve maintenance on compressors to extend the life of the equipment.
