Abstract
Tanjung Emas Port is a port in Semarang, Central Java. Judging from its geographical location, the position of Tanjung Emas Port has a very strategic position as a supporter of sea transportation in the East and West stretches, even in the northern region, namely Kalimantan. The dense ship traffic that passes through the Tanjung Emas Shipping Channel causes the area to be prone to accidents. An accident that might occur is a collision between ships. Apart from that, in this channel there is also a Fuel Oil Terminal (TBBM) belonging to PT. Pertamina (Persero). The high flow of ship traffic through the Tanjung Emas Port shipping channel has an impact on increasing the potential for ship accidents which can occur in the form of collisions between ships in the shipping channel. The collision risk study was carried out to determine the frequency of ship collisions that occur in the Tanjung Emas Shipping Channel, there are 3 collision scenarios that can occur, namely Crossing Collision, Head-on Collision, and Overtaking Collision. Collision frequency calculations were carried out using a manual calculation method based on IWRAP Theory. Based on the results of the analysis of the frequency of ship collisions, the results of Head-on Collision, Crossing Collision and Overtaking Collision were obtained with percentage values of 10,26%, 26,55% and 28,94% respectively. With the results of calculating the frequency of ship collisions, it can be stated that the risk is acceptable. However, mitigation measures are needed to accommodate the growth in the number of shipping routes in the Tanjung Emas Port shipping channel in the future.
