Abstract
Through a qualitative and quantitative analysis approach, the study analyzes the effectiveness of the use of radar aircraft in identifying and anticipating potential collisions in marine waters. The study aims to study the operation of radars as promoters of maritime safety and collision prevention at sea, with a focus on the KN. KUMBA ships. Data is collected through direct monitoring of the radar operating practices on the ships and analysis of recorded collision incidents. The findings of this study are expected to provide a comprehensive overview of the factors affecting navigational safety with a focus on the KN. KUMBA vessels. Furthermore, the study will explore the impact of the proper use of radar on the safety of the vessel and its crew, as well as the economic benefits for the shipping company through the reduction of the likelihood of losses from accidents. The methods used in data collection are through field observations, interviews, and library studies. The analysis highlights the challenges and successes in the application of radar technology, as well as its implications for maritime safety. Specific recommendations were made to improve the efficiency of radar operations and minimize the risk of collisions at sea. This research not only contributes to maritime safety literature, but also provides practical insights to those involved in ship operations, maintenance of radar equipment, and development of maritime security policy.
