Abstract

Loading and unloading productivity is the level of punctuality of a loading and unloading company to carry out cargo (container) transfer activities from ships to trucks and vice versa with containers per hour. There are several factors that influence loading and unloading activities, namely the speed of loading and unloading time, the supporting equipment available, and the loading and unloading labor factor. The time speed factor influences the length of the container stacking queue, the length of time that occurs is caused by the amount of cargo, the type of cargo, and the size of the cargo to be carried by the ship. The available equipment factor influences the transfer of containers from the container yard to the ship, and arranging the layout of the containers based on their tonnage weight so that container transfer activities are carried out on time. The human resource factor needed when the loading and unloading process occurs, workers who are at the port in a certain number who have been grouped are called gangs. The number of 1 gang consists of 17 workers, and if loading and unloading activities require 2 gangs then it also requires 2 ship to shore cranes or other transport equipment. The method used in the research uses simulation. Keywords: Loading and Unloading Productivity, Containers, Simulation
