Abstract
The coal loading and unloading process will run optimally when everything goes well and there are no obstacles. However, it is different when the implementation of stevedore competence that has not met the minimum standard requirements, the condition of ship cranes is not good and bad weather conditions resulting in less than optimal coal loading and unloading processes. These factors cause the length of the loading and unloading process and can cause losses to the Company, in this case PT. Mandiri Nusantara and Consumer Logistics. In this regard, this study aims to determine the factors that cause the less than optimal loading and unloading process of coal and efforts that can be made to improve the optimization of the coal loading and unloading process at PT. Mandiri Nusantara Logistics. This thesis research method is qualitative descriptive. Data sources are taken from primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques using field research which include, observation and documentation so that data validity techniques are obtained. The results of the study concluded that the inhibiting factors or obstacles that cause the less than optimal loading and unloading process of coal are stevedore competence that has not met the minimum standard requirements, poor condition of ship cranes and bad weather conditions. The impact of these factors is the delay in the loading and unloading process, complaints from consumers, and changes in schedules and losses for PT. Mandiri Nusantara Logistics. Efforts that can be made are to establish recruitment standards that can be applied every time the loading and unloading process is carried out, carry out maintenance, maintenance and addition of damaged facilities and coordinate with BMKG related to future weather conditions.
