Abstract

Based on the accident analysis, it shows that every accident has a cause. These causes originate from mechanical devices and the environment as well as from humans themselves. To prevent accidents, these causes must be avoided. This is where the role of a government agency called the National SAR Agency (BASARNAS) which has the task of carrying out guidance, coordination and control of SAR potential. in this case BASARNAS members are one of the main assets of an agency who are planners and active actors of safety organization activities. The purpose of this research is to find out how the coordination of the Medical First Responder (MFR) team is optimal in conducting SAR operations and knowing the strategy in an accident rescue mission. The method used in this research is the direct observation method in the field and conducting interviews with related parties. The result of this research is that in a good rescue teamwork, there needs to be coordination and communication between officers. To form this coordination, several elements are needed to unite the different backgrounds and characteristics of each individual. In addition, an effective strategy is also needed for officers so that the rescue mission can run optimally. Officers are also instilled with a sense of cohesion and mentally trained so that there is no hesitation in rescuing accident victims. That way the rescue mission can be optimized with coordination and teamwork that is compact and supportive between officers using appropriate and effective methods and reliable in rescue operations.
