Abstract

Coal mining activities cannot be separated from the distribution of mining products. The distribution of coal in Kalimantan is currently still dominated by sea routes. Transportation of coal by sea using ships can maximize the amount of coal volume, minimized cost and more effective. Integrated Tug Barge (ITB) is a barge propelled by specially configured tugboats. When the tug and barge are connected, they form a unit that functions as a ship. Integrated Tug Barge (ITB) can be an alternative choice compared to conventional ships of the same size. There are various variables that can affect the effectiveness of using ITB as an alternative to coal loading. In this study, three variables will be analyzed, namely cost, transport capacity and speed/cycle as independent variables and the potential for implementing ITB as the dependent variable. cycle to the dependent variable, namely the potential for implementing ITB. In this study, the object taken was the employee of PT Bara Jaya Bersama. The sample in this study were 67 respondents. The data analysis technique is a multiple linear regression technique. The results of the multiple regression study show that the most dominant variable influencing the smooth loading and unloading is the cost variable with a regression coefficient of 0.522 while the speed/cycle variable is negative by -0.059. With the Adjusted R2 test, the result is 0.435. This shows that the variables of cost, transport capacity and speed/cycle as a whole have an influence of 43.5% on the potential for implementing ITB while the remaining 56.5% is influenced by other variables not included in this study. Keywords: Integrated tug barge, cost, transport capacity, speed
