Abstract
The increasing demand for transportation modes presents an opportunity for transportation service providers. One cost-effective mode capable of carrying a large capacity is water transportation, such as ships. The addition of transportation facilities like ships must be accompanied by infrastructure, namely ports. A good port can be measured by its performance effectiveness, which is an index of the overall operating factors in the port that mutually influence each other. These factors are then used as independent variables because they represent measurements for port performance effectiveness, including administrative factors (X1), operational factors (X2), and infrastructure factors (X3). The population in this study consists of passenger ship crew members who stopped at Kumai port, totaling 316 people. The researcher then used the Slovin formula with a 10% error tolerance, resulting in 80 respondents, but the study took a sample of 90 respondents. The sampling technique used in this study is probability sampling with quota sampling. The data analysis methods employed are descriptive analysis and quantitative analysis, followed by multiple linear regression analysis using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) software. The test results indicate that the administrative, operational, and infrastructure variables have a significant and positive influence on the effectiveness of the performance of Panglima Utar Kumai Port in Central Kalimantan. The multiple regression analysis results obtained show: The test results indicate that the administrative, operational, and infrastructure variables have a significant and positive influence on the effectiveness of the performance of Panglima Utar Kumai Port in Central Kalimantan. The multiple regression analysis results obtained : Y = 5,234 +0,432X1+0,978X2+0,218X3 The equation shows that the variable which predominantly influences the effectiveness of port performance is operational, with a regression coefficient of 0.978. This means that administration (X1), operational (X2), and infrastructure (X3) have an influence on the effectiveness of Panglima Utar Kumai Central Kalimantan port performance by 64%, while the remaining 36% (100%-64%= 36%) is influenced by other variables outside of this study.
