Abstract
Every job definitely has a lot of risks in it. A company is obliged to guarantee that all workers have a safe and comfortable working environment so that they are able to work optimally without neglecting their work safety. Optimization is a process of finding the best practices to achieve maximum results. In this case, what is being optimized is work safety, the operation of loading and unloading equipment and the use of safety equipment for loading and unloading employees in order to support the process of loading and unloading containers at Tanjung Emas Port, Semarang. Work safety is a series of efforts and attempts to create a working atmosphere that is safe from the risk of physical, mental and emotional accidents so as to provide protection to the workforce working in the company concerned. It was still found that loading and unloading employees were not wearing safety equipment. The sub- optimal effect of using safety equipment means that the health and safety of employees is not guaranteed, increasing the risk of work accidents and hampering processes at the port. The purpose of this paper is to carry out by knowing the principles of handling loading and unloading, coordinating and communicating regarding the work of employees in loading and unloading, remembering the regulations for using safety equipment, carrying out practices regarding health and safety equipment, and holding safety meetings for loading and unloading employees. The methods used are observation, interviews, literature and literature. The results obtained by workers are that they can understand the principles of loading and unloading snacks optimally, carry out all work safety procedures step by step, and continue to pay attention to safety tools and equipment at work.
