Abstract
Background Researchers : checked the ship while it was docking together with the third engineer. When checking, it was found that there was an overflow in the Purifier's lubricating oil. After analyzing it turned out that there was damage to the purifier where the lubricating oil did not come out through the outlet pipe but instead came out through the sludge port (overflow) to the sewer. This causes pollution in the sea and results in a reduction in lubricating oil. Objective : To find out the cause of overflow in the Lubricating oil Purifier. Methodology : This research is qualitative in nature, data was obtained through interviews and direct observation in the field with the Machinists and Engine Crew Results : The causes of overflow in the lubricating oil purifier include the influence of the selection of the gravity disc, irregular rotation which causes the centrifugal force to fail, damage to the main seal ring which causes an overflow in the gaps between the bowl body and main cylinder, dirty bowl which results in the opening of the inner bowl. purrification process. The force used in the purifier uses centrifugal force, the remaining dirt enters the sludge tank.. Keywords: Analysis, Overflow, Lubricating Oil
