Abstract
Ships are vehicles that transport passengers and goods through waters to certain areas. Equipment in the form of certain tools is an important part of the ship. One of the most important tools is the navigation tool. Navigation tools are tools that are found on ships to assist in giving directions to sailing ships and as a means of communication. Navigation navigation tools play an important role as a guide for navigators so that navigation is always safe, secure and efficient and to avoid or reduce accidents at sea. In addition, it can function to determine the position and bow of the ship, notify danger or ship obstacles, mark the dividing line for ship traffic, indicate the boundaries of ship traffic, indicate special areas in the waters, and indicate the boundaries of the territory of the Indonesian state. Navigation navigation tools are certainly very much needed, considering that Indonesia is a Maritime Country which has many islands and also a vast ocean. Likewise, the Semarang Search and Rescue Agency always strives for and maintains all shipping navigation aids in its working area in good condition and functioning optimally by means of navigational equipment maintenance. Maintenance is an activity to maintain and maintain existing facilities as well as repair, make adjustments, or replace as needed to obtain a production operating condition to conform to the existing plan. The purpose of this paper is to find out about the maintenance of navigational equipment, the function of maintenance, the form of treatment, the maintenance process, the disadvantages if maintenance is not carried out, and find out what documents are needed if carrying out maintenance for navigational equipment in KN. SAR Sadewa 231. This is so that there will be no damage or failure during the operation of navigation tools. Navigation tools play an important role in the operation of ships for search and rescue.
