Abstract
Optitimalitation Perfomance Governor To Support Operational engine generator On PT. Indonesia Marina Shipyard Governor is an auxiliary machinery serves to regulate the entry of fuel when the engine over-rotation or low rotation. The governor is a component of the injection pump, which is to regulate or regulate engine speed. The readiness of the governor is one of the factors to support operational of the ship, especially during manouvering. The general governor's function is to automatically control the delivery of fuel in accordance with the engine load. Specific governor's function is to maintain the rotation of each position, limiting idle speed, and maximum speed. At the time of the ship sailing main engines often experience instability of rotation speed or over rotation and often the engine linkage does not reach the point of the main engine body (medium control). The cause of governor is not optimal due to lack of attention to maintenance, maintenance and lack of quality spare parts on board. In composing this paper, some methods have done such as observation, observation, interviews, and data sources. It is found that the possibility of water and dirt or mud that makes the booster pump is not working perfectly. Contaminated oil is the greatest cause of governor disturbance. Bearings that are not feasible in use and bushing that experienced extreme corrosion resulting in governor work is not maximal. So in need of care, improvement and attention to the governor, open the filter and clean it. Dirty grease on the governor is replaced with new oil and done in a clean place. To be able to work optimally with optimal results in need of attention to maintain and improvement. Maintenance of governor is done on time and on a regular basis. Maintenance, and repair are done so that the machine is always ready to operate optimally. Keeping the components of the machine is not quickly damaged and works properly. Costs required for maintenance, and repair periodically will be cheaper if compared with the repair on machines that have been severely damaged. In order to get the machine in a ready–to-use condition and the safety of its operation, it should consider guidance or proseur on maintenance, and repair.
