Abstract

Loading and unloading process activities are activities of loading and unloading of goods from ships to docks/barges/trucks to ships until they are stacked in holds which require various agencies and there are various documents related to the loading and unloading process and there are various obstacles that occur during the loading and unloading process. The goal that the author wants to achieve is to find out that loading and unloading activities are very important, namely to encourage the achievement of national logistics integration and be evenly distributed in both urban and rural areas. In the context of realizing national logistics integration, it is hoped that all logistics activities throughout Indonesia, both between regions and between islands, can operate effectively and efficiently and become one unit that is integrated with each other nationally within the territory of Indonesia. The data in this paper is the type of data used is qualitative data, with data sources obtained through data collection techniques, namely observation, interviews, literature studies, and documentation. The method used to overcome this problem by arranging the best loading and unloading equipment and a carrying capacity that is greater than the total weight of the load will speed up the loading and unloading process. Results of problem solving The process of handling loading and unloading of containers by PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia Surabaya Branch at Tanjung Perak Port Surabaya by means of stevedoring unloading goods from ships to docks, cargodoring transferring containers between field docks and receiving delivery to receive goods in warehouses or onto trucks receiving goods for unloaded containers. Parties involved in handling the loading and unloading process such as Ship Operation, PT Pelindo play an important role in the smooth loading and unloading activities, arrivals and departures of ships so that the process can run without a hitch. The obstacles in the loading and unloading process by PT PELNI are delays in goods, due to waiting for cargo which is usually caused by engine trouble experienced by ships or obstacles at the port of origin, bad weather so that the loading and unloading process is delayed. As long as the writer does land practice, all problems can be solved properly by using solutions depending on the problem at hand.. Keywords: Process,Loading and Unloading.
