Abstract

Loading and unloading performance is the result of the activity of loading or unloading a cargo from a dock, barge, truck into the hold or deck of a ship. This research aims to determine the loading and unloading facilities, the availability of loading and unloading equipment and the loading and unloading workforce on the effectiveness of loading and unloading performance at PT. Tomindomas Bulk Tank Terminal Merak. The population in this study were employees of PT. Tomindomas Bulk Tank Terminal Merak and the sample size was 80 respondents. The sampling technique used was probability sampling, simple random sampling, then the data was analyzed using multiple linear regression with the help of (software) Statistical Package For Social Science (SPSS) Version 26. The regression formulation in this research is as follows : Y = 0.792 + 0.344X1 + 0.190X2 + 0.315X3 + µ From this equation it is known that the most dominant variable influencing the effectiveness of loading and unloading performance is the loading and unloading facility variable with a coefficient of 0.344. The R2 (R Square) test obtained a result of 0.659 or 65.9%, which means that the effectiveness of loading and unloading performance (Y) can be explained by independent variables, namely loading and unloading facility variables (X1), availability of loading and unloading equipment (X2) and loading and unloading labor (X3). Meanwhile, the remainder (100%-65.9% = 34.1%) is explained by other variables outside the model which are not explained in this research, for example leadership variables, number of work gangs, and so on. Key words : effectiveness of loading and unloading performance, loading and unloading facilities, availability of loading and unloading equipment, loading and unloading workforce.
