Abstract
Safety in the world of work is a success that must be done individually or in groups that will produce a product or achievement either in companies engaged in the maritime sector or other companies. Every company is obliged to demand that its employees to work as well as possible, create a conducive work environment, so that employees are able to work optimally and pay attention to their work. Safety meeting is the first step so that work safety can be achieved. Safety meeting discusses how the implementation and procedures before being carried out on the ship and their impact on work safety and the work of the ship's crew. The purpose is to find out how the implementation and procedures of the safety meeting, as well as the effect of the safety meeting on the safety of the crew and the effect of the safety meeting on the work of the crew. The method used is a qualitative method by collecting data through observation, interviews and literature study. The result of the study are that safety meeting have an impact on work of crew on board. No work accidents occur on board ships by mastering material on how to implement and correct safety meeting procedures, while at the same time being able to deal with work incidents or accidents on ships properly and in accordance with the procedures that have been discussed. Because many crews did not receive safety meeting materials from the companies they belonged to, the result due to a lack of knowledge about how to do a good job according to their parts, the crew often have work accidents.
