Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine whether or not there is an influence of behavioral variables using helmets, vehicle conditions, and traffic discipline variables on driving safety on the Pandanaran road section of Boyolali district, Central Java. The population used in this research were motorbike riders who crossed Jalan Pandanaran, Boyolali Regency. The sample used in this research was 100 respondents using a non-probability sampling technique, namely the Incidental Sampling Technique, namely a technique for determining samples based on chance, namely anyone who A chance/incidental meeting with a researcher can be used as a sample, if it is deemed that the person who was met by chance is suitable as a data source. The data analysis used in this research is descriptive analysis and quantitative analysis, the data is analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis with the help of (software) Statistical Package For Social Science (SPSS) version 25. Based on the research results it can be seen that the research model is from the linear regression equation multiple is Y Y= 2.600 + 0.282.X1 + 0.397.X2 + 0.175.X3 µ. The results of research using partial t-test hypothesis testing show that the behavioral variables of helmet use, vehicle condition, and traffic discipline variables have a positive and significant effect on driving safety. From the results of this research, there is a relationship between the independent variable and the dependent variable. Hypothesis testing using the t test shows that the four independent variables, namely the helmet use behavior variable, are 0.282 (X1), the vehicle condition variable is 0.397 (X2), and the traffic discipline variable is 0.175 ( X3). From the regression equation, it can be seen that the variable that has the most dominant influence on driving safety is the vehicle condition variable with a regression coefficient of 0.397. And the determinant coefficient test (R Square) obtained a result of 0.474 or 47.4%, which means that driving safety is influenced by behavioral variables using helmets, vehicle condition, and traffic discipline variables, namely 47.4% and other factors that influence driving safety are 47.4%. 52.6% or 0.526. Keywords: Helmet Use Behavior, Vehicle Condition, Traffic Discipline, and Driving Safety.
