Abstract
Passenger safety is a condition of avoiding everyone from the risk of accidents during traffic caused by humans, vehicles, roads, and/or the environment. East Nusa Tenggara has one of the transportation services, which is precisely in Southwest Sumba. This study aims to determine the effect of vehicle conditions, traffic rules, load capacity and road conditions on passenger safety at the Southwest Sumba Transportation Service. The population in this study were users of motorized vehicle testing at the Southwest Sumba Regency Transportation Service and the sample used in this study was 85 respondents. The sampling technique used was non-probability sampling, incidental sampling, then the data was analyzed using multiple linear regression. with the help of (software) Statistical Package For Social Science (SPSS) Version 26. The regression formulation in this study is as follows: Y = 7.319 + 0.287 X1 + 0.327 X2 - 0.295 X3 - 0.202 X4 + µ From this equation it is known that the most dominant variable influencing passenger safety is the variable of traffic rules with a regression coefficient of 0.327. coefficient of determination (Adjusted R Square) of 0.632 . This means that the vehicle condition variable (X1), traffic rules (X2), load capacity (X3) and road conditions (X4) have a contribution of 63.2% in influencing passenger safety (Y). While other factors that affect passenger safety (100% - 63.2% = 36.8%) are influenced by other variables outside the research or outside the regression model. vehicles, traffic regulations, load capacity, road conditions Keywords: passenger safety, vehicle conditions, traffic rules, capacity, load, road conditions
