Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether or not there was an influence on ship seaworthiness, weather detection, ship crew, and the agency's role on sailing safety at PT. Indonesian National Shipping (Persero) Baubau Branch. The sample in this study consisted of 90 respondents. The sample used is purposive sampling. Because in the sampling technique with certain considerations, namely only people who are considered to know best about what is expected, or maybe as authorities who will make it easier for researchers to obtain data can be used as research objects. Characteristics of the samples that can be included or are appropriate for research in this study are: Captain, Chief Officer I, Chief Officer II, Chief Officer III, and other crew members. Data analysis used in this study was descriptive analysis and quantitative analysis, data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis with the help of (software) Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 25. The results of the research by testing the hypothesis t-test partially showed that Ship seaworthiness, weather detection, ship crew, and the role of the agency have a positive and significant effect on sailing safety. Based on the results of the study it can be seen that the research model of the multiple linear regression equation is Y = -3.156 + 0.279X1 + 0.315X2 + 0.274X3 + 0.372X4 + µ which means the partial test of seaworthiness of ships, weather detectors, crew members, agency roles have a positive effect and significant for the safety of sailing. Evidenced by the results of a comparison of the value of t count with t table and with a significant level comparison of 0.05% where the ship's airworthiness variable t count (3.696) > t table (1.66277) with a significant value level of 0.000 > 0.05, the weather detection variable t count ( 2.872) > t table (1.66277) with a significant value level of 0.005 > 0.05, crew variable t count (2.921) > t table (1.66277) with a significant value level of 0.004 > 0.05, agency role variable t count (4.953) > t table (1.66277) with a significant value level of 0.000 > 0.05. The r2 test of seaworthiness, weather detection, ship crew, and the role of the agency has a significant effect on sailing safety by 62%, while 38% is explained by other causes outside the variable models that were not examined. Key words: seaworthiness, weather detection, ship crew, agency role, shipping safety
