Abstract
ABSTRACT The development of the maritime world is now increasingly rapid. Over time, the need for sea transportation facilities is increasing. This needs to be supported by better safety equipment on board. Occupational safety in the shipping world is very important, because the risk of accidents is very high. Therefore the slogan "Safety First" on the ship must really be carried out and obeyed. Especially for passenger ships, where the ships not only load vehicles such as trucks, trailers, motorcycles and cars, but also carry human lives. The availability of safety equipment must also be in line with the number of crew members and/or passengers. In addition to the availability that must be considered, safety equipment must also be considered for maintenance. So that when you need it, can be ready when used. Based on the description above, the author tries to examine more deeply so that a paper with the title "Availability Analysis of Safety Equipment Aboard Passenger Ships in KMP.DLN Oasis" is realized. The author's purpose of conducting this study was to determine the types, procedures for use, availability, and maintenance procedures for safety equipment on board the KMP DLN OASIS ship. With the data collection methods, both by observation, interviews, and library research that the authors collect, an accurate discussion can be taken. As a ship owned by a company that has just been established, the safety equipment on KMP DLN Oasis has met the appropriate criteria, all of them are modern and new. However, for its availability, there are still some safety tools that are still lacking. number of crew members, Passengers and luggage loaded by KMP DLN Oasis affect the availability of existing safety equipment. Maintenance of safety equipment at KMP DLN Oasis is the responsibility of the Third Officer (Third Officer) which is carried out every 1 (one) month. Training and counseling on safety equipment should be routinely carried out at KMP.DLN Oasis, so that crew members can respond quickly and be alert in the event of an incident involving hundreds of human lives.
