Abstract
In line with the implementation of development in Indonesia whose main target is in the field of economic development, trade activities are one of the sectors of economic development, its role is always growing and developing, to facilitate the flow of goods and services. Supporting these trading activities, PT Persero Pelabuhan Indonesia I Tanjungpinang Branch is a company engaged in container loading and unloading services. The purpose of this paper is to find out the process of loading and unloading containers carried out by PT Persero Pelabuhan Indonesia I Tanjungpinang Branch at the Port of Sei Kolak Kijang, the supporting equipment used in the loading and unloading process of containers, as well as the advantages and constraints in the implementation of loading and unloading containers. The writing method used in writing this paper uses observational object data, as well as a collection of documents and data related to container loading and unloading activities. The results of the observation that the loading and unloading of containers is in accordance with the container loading and unloading work instructions that have been set by PT Persero Pelabuhan Indonesia I Tanjungpinang Branch. Where the results of these observations are in accordance with the problems that the authors found such as data handling and the emergence of obstacles during these activities. In carrying out loading and unloading of containers, loading and unloading equipment is supported as a service facility or basic tool to support loading and unloading of containers
