Abstract

ABSTRACT intersection is a node in a transportation network where two or more roads meet and at this intersection there is a potential traffic conflict that may occur. Especially at the Maya signaled intersection, Tegal city, where one of the efforts to reduce traffic conflicts is to reset the cycle time and phase at the intersection. The intersection is given an APILL arrangement aimed at avoiding traffic conflicts and as an effort to maintain road capacity. The method used in the analysis of intersection performance is using calculations on MKJI and using PTV VISSIM software. As for the analysis of traffic conflicts by direct observation and compared with the SSAM software to determine the number of conflicts that occur. The next step is to provide recommendations for handling traffic conflict problems using PTV VISSIM software. Recommendations for handling are carried out by resetting the cycle time using 3 phase and 4 phase settings, which will then be compared with the initial conditions. From the recommendations that have been made using the PTV VISSIM software, the most appropriate recommendation is to use the 3 Phase setting. The results of the simulation of the 3-phase arrangement, it turns out to be effective in reducing the number of traffic conflicts and the level of service is still in good condition.
