Abstract

Ship safety is the condition of the ship that meets the requirements for material, construction, building, machinery and electricity, stability, layout and equipment including auxiliary equipment and ship radio electronics, as evidenced by a certificate after inspection and testing. Therefore it is necessary to increase tug boat safety at the Port of Cirebon. However, tug boat safety is not always in accordance with the targets set each year. Therefore it is necessary to measure the safety of the ship related to the role of Harbor Master, Ship Seaworthiness, Ship Crew and Shipping Navigational Aids. This research was carried out with the aim of knowing the effect of the role of Harbor Master, Ship Seaworthiness, Ship Crew and Shipping Navigation Aids on ship safety in the Port of Cirebon. This research was conducted using the tug boat crew questionnaire method with 104 respondents. The analysis technique in this study uses multiple linear regression analysis. The formulation of the regression in this study is as follows: Y = -0.792+ 0.301.X1 + 0.254.X2 + 0.346.X3 + 0.150.X4 + µ From the results of the equation, it shows that the Syahbandar Role variable (X1) has (t count 4.064 > t table 1.984), the Ship Airworthiness variable (X2) has (t count 2.690 > t table 1.984), the Crew variable (X3) has (t count 4.160 > t table 1.984) and the variable Shipping Navigation Aids (X4) has (t count 2.046 > t table 1.984). As for the value of Adjusted R2 = 0.501. This means that 50,1% of the variation in the dependent variable (Y), namely Ship Safety, is explained by the independent variables, namely the Role of Harbor Masters, Ship Seaworthiness, Ship Crew and Shipping Navigation Aid. The remaining 100% - 50,1% = 49,9%, influenced by other variables outside the research. Keywords: Ship Safety, The Role of Syahbandar, Ship Seaworthiness, Ship Crew, Shipping Navigation Aid.
