Abstract
Passenger safety is a condition in which everyone is protected from the risk of accidents during traffic caused by humans, vehicles, roads and/or the environment. The city of Yogyakarta is one of the cities with a fairly rapid population growth in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the effect of vehicle conditions, regulations, and load capacity on passenger safety in the city of Yogyakarta. The population in this study were passengers in the city of Yogyakarta and the sample used in this study was 94 respondents. The sampling technique used was non-probability sampling with incidental sampling, then the data was analyzed using multiple linear regression with the help of (software) Statistical Package For Social Science (SPSS) Version 25. The formulation of the regression in this study is as follows: Y = 0,733 + 0,333X1 + 0,203X2 + 0,385X3 + µ From this equation it is known that the most dominant variable influencing Passenger Safety is the Load Capacity variable with a regression coefficient of 0.367. The R2 test (R Square) obtained a result of 0.579. This means 57.9% of passenger safety (Y) which can be explained by independent variables, namely vehicle condition variables (X1), traffic rules (X2) and load capacity (X3). While the rest (100% -57.9% = 42.1%) is explained by other variables outside the model that are not explained in this study, namely road conditions.
