Abstract
This study aims to analyze the effect of ship traffic, ship document inspection, ship seaworthiness on shipping safety. This study describes the factors that affect shipping safety. These factors are ship traffic, ship document inspection and ship seaworthiness. The data used in this study is primary data obtained from the results of distributing questionnaires filled in by the ship's crew at the Port of Tanjungpinang. The object of this research was carried out on the ship's crew. The population in this study is the ship's crew and the research sample is taken using a non-probability sampling technique using a quota sampling technique with a sample of 100 respondents. Techniques / data analysis used to solve the problems in this study is to use regression analysis. The results of the regression analysis and t test show that the ship traffic variable (X1) has a positive and significant effect on shipping safety (Y), inspection of ship documents (X2) has a positive and insignificant effect on shipping safety (Y), ship seaworthiness (X3) has an effect on positive and significant to shipping safety (Y). The results of the coefficient of determination (R2 = 0.547) means that by 54.7% the variable coefficient of ship traffic, inspection of ship documents and ship seaworthiness has an effect on shipping safety with a value of 54.7% while the rest (100% - 54.7%) = 45 .3% is influenced by other variables outside the research or outside the regression equation model.
