Abstract

ABSTRACT Ship waiting time is one of the problems that must be a serious concern in every port around the world. As a company that serves port activities, of course the ship service sector plays an important role in preparing everything so that everything goes according to plan. Activities in the port of sea transportation services that have a large carrying capacity, especially in loading and unloading of goods. If port performance is less than optimal, it will have a direct impact on services so that it will incur high costs, which will have a direct impact on the price of goods on the market. The purpose of this research is to determine whether there is an effect of loading and unloading productivity, availability of wharves, document services and guidance services on ship waiting time at the Port of Tanjung Emas, Semarang. In this study, the research population was Waiting Time for Ships at the Port of Tanjung Emas, Semarang, by taking a sample system with a total of 80 respondents (sample). Variables in the study consisted of: Free variable Loading and Unloading Productivity (X1), Dock Availability (X2), Document Services (X3), and Guidance Services (X4) and the dependent variable namely Ship Waiting Time (Y). Data collection was carried out through observation, literature study, interviews, documentation and questionnaires. The analysis technique used is multiple linear regression with the help of the SPSS V.25 program. Based on the research results and multiple linear regression analysis, the equation is: Y = -1.176 + 0.334 X1 + 0.181 X2 + 0.318 X3 + 0.302 X4 + µ. The results of multiple linear equations show that the Vessel Waiting Time variable (Y), Productivity Variable of Loading and Unloading Activities (X1) has t-count (3.677) > t-table (1.99210), Wharf Availability Variable (X2) has t-count (2.290) > t-table (1.99210), variable Document Services (X3) has t-count (4.091) > t-table (1.99210) and Guidance Services Variable (X4) has t-count (4.574) > t-table (1.99210). while the value of Adjusted R Square is 0.676 which means 67.6% of the variable waiting time for ships can be explained by the variables of loading and unloading productivity, availability of docks, document services and pilotage services. While the remaining 32.4% is explained by other variables outside the four variables used in this study. Keywords : Loading and unloading Productivity, Dock Availability, Document Service, Guiding Services and Vessel Waiting Time
