Abstract
In line with the implementation of development in Indonesia whose main target is in the field of economic development, trade activity is one of the sectors of economic development, its role is constantly growing and developing, to facilitate the flow of goods and services to support these trade activities. PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional III Surabaya, Kalimas Terminal division is a traditional port in the city of Surabaya which is still used as a place for loading/unloading and stacking of General Cargo goods, especially from wooden ships, barges and boats boat. The purpose of this writing is to find out the process of handling the accumulation of general cargo carried out at the Surabaya Kalimas Terminal division, the supporting equipment used in the process of handling the accumulation of general cargo, as well as the obstacles and solutions in handling the accumulation of general cargo goods. The method used in writing this paper uses data on observation objects, as well as collections of documentation and data related to the activities of handling the accumulation of general cargo goods. The result of the observation is that the implementation of activities for handling the accumulation of general cargo goods is in accordance with the work instructions for handling the accumulation of general cargo goods which have been set by PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional III Surabaya Kalimas Terminal Division. Where the results of these observations are in accordance with the problems that the authors found such as data handling and the emergence of obstacles during the activity. In carrying out activities for handling the accumulation of general cargo goods, it is supported by supporting equipment as service facilities or basic tools to support the work of handling the accumulation of general cargo goods.
