Abstract

The port is a terminal for sea transportation which has the main function of raising and lowering passengers, loading and unloading of goods and animals. In addition, it is also an area of work environment for economic activity. More broadly the function of the port is as an interface, link, gateway and industrial entity. Teluk Lamong Port provides loading and unloading services for containers and dry bulk unloading. This port does look modern and futuristic. For dry bulk unloading services, Teluk Lamong Terminal has also prepared large-capacity unloading equipment, supported by a 1.2 km conveyor belt from the wharf to the warehouses and silos. After conducting a complete trial last March, Teluk Lamong Terminal's dry bulk facility is ready to serve "giant" bulk carriers. At the dry bulk wharf, Teluk Lamong Terminal provides two units of GSU (Grab Ship Unloader) with a capacity of 2000 tons/hour, per unit. This means that, in terms of capacity, Teluk Lamong Terminal is capable of unloading 24,000 tons/day. Huge capacity compared to terminal conditions. With the speed and operational convenience of Teluk Lamong Terminal, the time for ships to dock at the wharf will be shorter. This can be a material advantage for the service user when the ship's berthing time becomes shorter. For national logistics, this will certainly have an impact on efficiency in the goods distribution process, especially in unloading activities at the terminal. Shorter time in the goods distribution process has a positive impact on the goods logistics process as a whole. In the end, national logistics efficiency will also be achieved Keywords : port, unloading, dry bulk.
