Abstract
Basic survival procedures and techniques when falling into the Sea (Sea Survival) have an important role in life. Survival can be interpreted as a technique or a kind of Science in the face of threats to personal safety. Among activists of outdoor activities, survival or what is known as survival defense or also called survival is interpreted as the ability and techniques to be able to survive conditions that endanger survival that occur in the open by using improvised equipment. A person who survives is called a survivor. There are various types of survival, which can be distinguished based on the type of terrain and based on the number of people. Many benefits can be obtained by participating in survival activities, such as more respect for nature, learning to be an independent person, and others, which can be trained with certain steps when doing survival. Therefore, one of the steps to anticipate emergency conditions that can occur in the field, a survivor must have careful preparation and planning, including the equipment and equipment needed, as well as basic knowledge about survival. However, it is the self-factor that determines the most when someone is in an emergency. In these emergencies, there are several problems that we will face, namely problems or dangers that exist in nature (objective dangers) and problems that concern ourselves (subjective dangers). Nature often becomes an unpredictable factor and becomes an obstacle for man to endure the situation. Various life-threatening emergencies can occur anytime, anywhere. So, as much as possible should maximize the existing equipment that is a very important source to defend themselves in the wild. The purpose of this study is to find out about the procedures of search and rescue operations and how the concept of survival at sea. The method of data collection used is the method of data collection through observation, interviews, documentation and literature review as well as direct observation at the Office of the National Agency for Search and Rescue Bandung. The result of this research is that using basic procedures and techniques to survive in the wild or survive in the sea. The conclusion of this paper is to explain the procedures and techniques of how to survive if you fall into the sea, and how to enlarge the factors that can affect success in Survival. And this concept can be useful as a method of self-defense for survival for a helper or victim. Keywords: procedures, basic techniques, survival.
