Abstract
Abstract PT. Dharma Lautan Utama is a company that serves sea transportation and ferry crossings throughout Indonesia, especially for the lower middle class. Indonesia is a country known as a maritime country where most of its territory is waters and consists of islands. Therefore, sea transportation is very important to connect the islands scattered throughout Indonesia. One of sea transportation is sea transportation in the form of ships. A ship is a vehicle for transporting passengers and goods at sea. The purpose of writing this paper is to find out how to use safety equipment to minimize accidents on board. This research was carried out at PT. Dharma Lautan Utama Merak Branch starting from 05 August 2022 to 05 January 2023. The background of the problem is the Use of Safety Equipment to Minimize Accidents on a ship belonging to PT. Dharma Lautan Utama Merak Branch which is a company to provide crossing services. The purpose of writing this paper is none other than to find out how safety equipment works in order to minimize accidents on top of the KMP. KIRANA II owned by PT. The Main Ocean Dharma of the Peacock Branch. Based on data collection carried out during onshore practice (Prada), the authors used several methods, namely observation, interviews, and literature study. The result of the discussion of this paper is the settlement regarding the activities of the Use of Safety Equipment to Minimize Accidents on Ships Owned by PT. Dharma Lautan Utama Merak Branch will run smoothly without a hitch if each party can fulfill the procedures that have been set. Keywords : Purpose, Background, Results
