Abstract
In essence, ship guidance is one of the efforts to maintain the safety of the ship, passengers and cargo when the ship enters the shipping channel to the dock or port pool to anchor and vice versa if the ship exits the dock to the high seas or the ship moves places between piers. One of the ways to maximize the potential of the shipping process is by implementing mandatory guidance waters so that navigation can be carried out safety, orderly, and smoothly. Where a guiding service with a tugboat mechanism, namely providing information about the state of the local waters which is important for the safety of the ship and the environment through a guide is very necessary. With that the safety and security of shipping will be guaranteed and the dangers and damages that might arise can be minimized and overcome as early as possible. However, it cannot be denied that there are still several obstacles related to the provision of guidance services at the Tanjung Intan Cilacap port carried out by Badan Usaha Pelabuhan. This problem is caused by the existence of factors that influence the port process such as high wave potentiall and Intraction (mutual influence). The purpose of this research was carried out so that the implementation of guidance services for ships at the port Tanjung Intan Cilacap which has been going on can be further improved so that the safety and security of shipping and productivity at the port can be achieved. The results of this process will have an impact on ships sailing in the waters of Cilacap and its surroundings, so that they can sail safely and smoothly. Security and safety of ships sailing in Cilacap waters can be guaranteed and run according to the channel so that hazards that threaten the environment and ship safety can be minimized and anticipated as quickly as possible.
