Abstract

Traffic jam often encountered on the road at certain time. It can be caused by increased population growth affects the increase in demand for transportation infrastructure. This research is written to analyze the factors that affect traffic jam and traffic accidents through road condition and driver behavior. This research model uses four hypothesis, those are allegedly affect the condition of the road to traffic accidents, influence the driver behavior to the traffic accidents, the traffic accidents alleged effect on traffic jam, road conditions thought to affect the traffic jam. This sampling technique that is used in this research in purposive sampling method, where the sample is selected with the proviso that requirement is considered to have the essential characteristics traits that are relevant to the research. Respondents who are used 100 people in Setiabudi road users and residents around the Setiabudi streets. The data analysis technique that was used here was the structural equation modeling ( SEM ) from AMOS 21.00 software package in modeling and review of hypotheses. The results of data analysis will explain the causality relation amongst variables that are being developed in this study model. The proposed models will be accepted after fulfilling assumptions, that is normality and Standardized Residual Covariance ±2,58. Whereas the value of Determinant of Sample Covariance Matrix is 13,401. Hexogen and endogen measurement models have been tested using confirmatory analysis. Subsequently, the measurement models where analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling ( SEM ) for test of causality relation amongst variables that influence and are influenced by road condition, driver behavior, traffic accidents, and traffic jam fulfill Goodness of Fit criteria, that is chi square = 32,962; probability = 0,962; GFI = 0,945; AGFI = 0,912; TLI = 1,585; CFI = 1,000; CMIN/DF = 0,673; RMSEA = 0,000. Based on the results of data analysis it can be concluded that the model can be accepted. Keyword : Traffic accidents, Traffic jams, Road condition, Driver behavior
