Abstract
Shipping lanes are an important part of a port, and their development and management must pay attention to shipping needs. That way, accidents can be minimized or even eliminated. The Surabaya Shipping Channel is also surrounded by several other ports, so that the Surabaya Shipping Channel does not only serve the port of Tanjung Perak, but also serves ports around the Surabaya Shipping Channel. So there is a need for a special review to support shipping safety, especially for ships crossing the Surabaya Shipping Channel. Based on the description and explanation above, this research was conducted to find out how big the level of safety is in the APBS channel and what must be done to improve shipping security and as a reference for safety standards for shipping lanes at other ports around the West Surabaya Shipping Channel. As well as the research was only carried out in the Surabaya Batar Shipping Channel Environment. The research was conducted only on the Accident Risk Variables that occurred in the Surabaya West Shipping Channel. The research is to increase safety in the West Shipping Channel.
