Abstract
Spare parts are part of a separate machine, which functions as a replacement component when parts of the machine can no longer be repaired. This spare part is one part of the machine which has a very important role in carrying out maintenance and repair activities on the machine. Given the importance of the role of these spare parts, the unavailability of spare parts will have a direct impact on the engine performance and ship operations. To prevent a lack of stock of spare parts on board and the maintenance of spare parts in the engine room. So it is necessary to have good communication and coordination between the company and the ship's crew when sending spare parts to the ship, so that there are no delays when the ship departs. As well as the need for scheduled weekly maintenance so that spare parts do not break down prematurely. The purpose of this observation is to find spare parts in carrying out maintenance and repair of machines. The method used in this observation is to use the observation method (observation). In addition to using this method the author also uses the interview method (interviews), and also using the method of literature. From the results of observations made. the writer at TB.ETI 102 has done well scheduled spare parts maintenance. Alsoto find out the factors of unavailability of spare parts in the engine room. There is scheduled maintenance of spare parts and good coordination between the company and the ship's crew. Spare parts management will be properly controlled as appropriate. Keywords: Spare Parts.
