Abstract
Coal in Palembang city has great potential if utilized properly by shipping companies. PT Karya Pacific Shipping as an agency company also takes part in the utilization of coal in river transportation. The high opportunity of coal can be utilized properly if all activities can run. But in reality in the field there are still many obstacles such as frequent bad weather during the loading process and also lack of accuracy in making loading documents. This will certainly hamper loading activities. Therefore the author took the problem in the hope of optimizing coal loading activities in Palembang. This research aims to find out how the procedure for managing coal loading documents at Jetty RMK Gandus. In writing this scientific paper, the author uses the Qualitative Method, which is to develop an understanding of the procedure for managing coal loading documents at the RMK Gandus Jetty. And the Quantitative Method is to make an objective description of the procedure for managing coal loading documents. Based on the results of the author's interview observations explain that the procedure for managing coal loading documents at PT Karya Pacific Shipping Palembang branch is to serve the delivery of coal cargo from the mine to the Outer Threshold and to the destination port through the Gandus RMK Jetty. Ships that will carry out coal loading activities must have approval from related parties with the condition of processing dangerous goods loading approval and requirements that have been set by the Palembang Port Authority and Port Authority office which aims to safety and security of shipping when carrying out coal loading activities in the RMK Gandus Jetty area.
