Abstract
Procedures for Extending the Certificate of the KM. Sinabng Ship At PT. Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia. PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia is one of the shipping companies engaged in shipping. The purpose of this paper is to find out the process of extending the Cargo Ship Safety Equipment Certificate, Cargo Ship Safety Construction, Cargo Ship Safety Radio and National Anti Fouling System Certificate for KM. Sinabung at PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia Substation Surabaya as well as the documents required during the extension process. ship certificates and to find out obstacles and how to overcome them. To obtain the data, the writer uses a qualitative method by means of observation or direct observation, then interviews with related parties, and the literature to complete the writing. The results of field observations that the procedure for extending the KM Sinabung certificate that needs to be renewed there are 4 certificates, namely the Passanger Ship Safety Certificate, Certificate Of Fire Extinguisher, Minimum Safe Manning Document, and the Certificate of Control of the Anti Barnacle System. along with 10 accompanying supporting documents. In the process of managing the renewal of the ship's certificate, several obstacles were found, such as; The slow process of extending the certificate because there are document files that have not been fulfilled, Slow internet network in the office, Availability of inadequate service support facilities, Unprofessional KSOP employees, Limited number of agency operational staff. To overcome obstacles during the ship certificate renewal process, the agent needs to complete the document files that are still lacking or have not been fulfilled so that the certificate renewal process is not hampered, there is a need for wifi repair by replacing wifi that has good signal strength for the smooth running of the company's activities. several supporting facilities that can help smooth the certificate renewal process so that time efficiency can be on time without any delays, There is a need for employee skill training to increase the insight and work ability of each employee, It is necessary to add operational staff in the required department.
