Abstract
The anchor machine is an anchor winch system installed on the ship for the purpose of lifting and extending the anchor through the haws pipe anchor tube. The anchoring machine currently uses a lot of electric propulsion, the anchoring machine is one of the supports in the arrangement of the basic cranes, in general the anchoring machine is placed in a safe area and away from navigation hazards. The main use of the windlass is as a link or towing rope and anchor. The anchor machine has the ability to lift the anchor from a depth of 30-60 meters. The purpose of this observation is to find out how it operates. As well as how to care and factors that cause damage to the anchor engine on the ship. This research uses descriptive and qualitative methods. Data collection was carried out by means of interviews, documentation, observation, by observing when the writer carried out land practice. From the observations made by the author. Operational problems on the anchor machine in general include: Leakage in the gearbox, lack of lubrication in the gearbox, dirt on the rotating shaft, excess current, overheating. Damaged rubber couplings include: thinning rubber couplings, as electro motors and as connectors instead of flashlights. The results of periodic maintenance on the Kumba State Ship show that carrying out periodic maintenance can prevent damage in the short term, more scheduled and regular maintenance without waiting for anchor engine damage. At the time of carrying out the practice on the Kumba State Ship that was used it was safer and more efficient in use, operation and maintenance. Keywords: Machine Anchor, Hawse Pipe, Electric Motor.
