Abstract

The lubrication system in the ship's main engine has a role to lubricate the engine components. This system is one of the systems that is very influential in supporting the main engine on the ship which has a very important role for the continuity of the main engine's operation as the ship's propulsion. if a lubrication failure occurs, it will have a direct impact on the performance of the main engine and affect the operation of the ship. To prevent the occurrence of hazards caused by the failure of the lubrication system, a good maintenance schedule analysis is needed. In this study, we will discuss the importance of maintaining the lubrication system for support the performance of PT.Baruna Jaya’s KM.Oceana main engine. In the maintenance of this lubrication system it is used to prevent the occurrence of critical components, wear and tear on the lubrication system. Meanwhile, in the maintenance schedule, the ship's operational schedule is considered for decision making so that all activities will be carried out when the ship is not on a voyage. Maintenance of the lubrication components include: oil pump, circulation tank, storage tank, filter (filter), Lo cooler. In addition, the maintenance schedule specified maintenance schedule aims to avoid failure of the lubrication system and all maintenance can be carried out when the ship is not sailing.
