Abstract
This paper discusses the damage, maintenance and repair of windlass. The anchor has a very important function on the ship so that the ship can repair. In order the ship is in her position even though there is pressure from the ocean currents. So the maintenance of the windlass must be done regularly ,so that there are no problems with the anchor machine. As for the problems that occur in the windlass that is damage to the windlass gears, anchor engine coolant, anchor engine brake. This was raised by the author from the results of the observations that the author did, how to obtain data, namely conducting interviews, observation, documentation and literature study. From the results of the observation the author conducted primary data collection, namely conducting a field study by directly reviewing the object of destination. The observations in this paper, the windlass damage was caused by lack of maintenance, did not see the condition of the windhlass, too forced the for loading. Keywords: Damage, Maintenance, Windlass.
