Abstract
The availability of surveillance or shipping safety rules is an important aspect in the implementation of safe shipping. The purpose of this study was to determine the conditions or efforts in the shipping safety providers owned in accordance with the requirements of domestic regulations and SOLAS, determine the strategies implemented in an effort to reduce the level of casualties in ship accidents operating in the Juwana Public Port. The method used is the method of checking, monitoring and implementing rules and facilitating shipping safety programs. The results of the analysis found that the condition of the completeness of the shipping safety of ships in the Juwana Port for the category of shipping safety equipment was in the sufficient category. While for the technical category, shipping safety equipment is in the low category. While the strategy that can be carried out in an effort to reduce the level of casualties in ship accidents in the Port of Juwana includes a). Technical audit of ships on aspects of shipping safety requirements, b). Training for crew and ship captain on shipping safety techniques, c). Improvement of the function of the shipping safety hall as an institution of a public service agency. Keywords: Ships, ports, shipping safety equipment
