Abstract

Fire Optimization is a person's effort to further improve an activity or work to further re-refine the fire suppression system that already existed on board the previous ship. Efforts made to optimize fire training include improving the readiness, discipline and skills of ship crews in carrying out fire emergency exercises by providing insight into fire classification, so that crews understand the appropriate extinguishers for burning materials, providing information in the form of images or video playback, to remind crews the worst possibility is common in the event of a fire. Fire training is a learning process that involves acquiring skills, concepts, regulations, or attitudes to improve performance in tackling fires so that we are alert, alert and skilled in dealing with fires, which include: Prevention, Extinguishing, Extinguishing. The purpose of the study is to optimize firefighting training on board, and to optimize fire fighting equipment. Based on the results of the study, it was found that there is ship crew knowledge about the type of fire, the use of types of fire extinguishers, the duties and responsibilities of ship crews in carrying out fire drills, as well as the maintenance of fire extinguishers. This research has proven that with the drill method, the crew can know and understand about their duties and responsibilities in dealing with emergencies on board. Data collection of this paper uses library research and field research with observation methods and interview methods. The result of this research is that the entire ship crew knows about the fire drill and how to maintain fire extinguishers Keywords : Drill, Ship Fire, Optimization
