Abstract
Container loading and unloading activities are one of the important components in loading and unloading service providers. The loading and unloading process at the Semarang Container Terminal has problems that arise including shortages, damage and loss in containers, mitigation for machine maintenance which has an impact on loading and unloading activities, receiving/delivery activities which result in long turn round time (TRT). This is to find out the problems that arise in the loading and unloading process of containers, as well as how to mitigate the problems that arise in the loading and unloading process. This research is expected to be able to improve the service of loading and unloading containers at the Semarang Container Terminal. The author uses descriptive analysis techniques. The data used are primary data obtained from interviews, observations from the results of internship activities at the Semarang Container Terminal. The purpose of descriptive research is to make systematic, factual and accurate planning regarding the facts of the problems that arise in the loading and unloading process at the Semarang Container Terminal. Problems that arise in the loading and unloading process of containers can be carried out operational mitigation, because most of the problems that arise comes from within the company. Mitigation for shortages, damage and loss in containers, mitigation for machine maintenance, mitigation of slow turn round time (TRT).
