Abstract
Loading and unloading equipment is a tool used for loading and unloading activities on ships and at ports, when loading and unloading activities often occur accidents caused by damage to loading and unloading equipment, causing the port and the company to suffer huge losses, therefore Maintenance and repair of loading and unloading equipment is very important to be carried out regularly for the safety and smooth operation of loading and unloading activities. The purpose of writing this scientific paper is to find out the types of loading and unloading equipment, how to optimize loading and unloading equipment maintenance, how to optimize loading and unloading equipment repair methods, and to find out the constraints during the loading and unloading equipment process, in writing this paper. the author uses qualitative data types and uses observation and documentation data collection methods, and from writing this paper the authors get the results, during the loading and unloading process there are several types of tools that have different functions, can optimize the maintenance of loading and unloading equipment by doing routine maintenance, for optimizing the repair of loading and unloading equipment, namely making repairs to damaged equipment, problems that often occur during the loading and unloading process are damage to the wire (wire rope) which results from not providing lubrication to the wire.
