Abstract

In order to meet the principle of loading and utilization of load space systematically and avoid losses from the company during the process of loading batubara as a result of the shape and size of the logs are diverse so that it takes arrangements to know the weight of the load to be loaded on the ship according to the manifest plan can only be done by calculating the draft survey before loading or initial draft survey and after loading or final draft survey , draft survey is the process of calculating the load that has been loaded by using draft changes moments before loading and after loading, initial draft survey and final draft survey is the main basis of this calculation, because by knowing how many parts of the ship that go into the water, it can be known the weight of the ship, the purpose of this observation knows the process of calculating the type of payload with the draft survey method, the observation method made by the author is an observation method by taking a qualitative approach, data collection techniques used i.e. observation , interviews, documentation, and literature, the results of this observation include procedures, functions, and activities carried out by the author on the calculation of draft surveys, namely to know the weight and amount of cargo in accordance with the stability of the ship in the calculation of draft surveys, furthermore there are corrections that must be considered such as correction of ship drafts, correction of ship trim, and correction of the density of the waters where the ship floats, obstacles experienced at the time of calculation of the draft survey can be minimized by meeting the ideal conditions in the process of calculating the draft survey method Keywords: Stability, Counting, initial draft survey, final draft survey
