Abstract
The risk of fire on the ship increases if the ship in question uses flammable materials and paint piles are placed in the cabin. FFA must also be in a ready-to-use condition and in good condition. In this study, the type of research used by the author is qualitative research, namely the data that the author finds in the field while carrying out marine practices in MV. Meratus Benoa PT. Meratus Line. In the implementation of extinguishing the fire, the crew must know and must understand what fire extinguishers are and the functions of the extinguishers on board and how to use FFA (Fire Fighting Appliances) fire extinguishers. Fire Extinguishers in MV. Meratus Benoa is very important to deal with fires. With this maintenance, it is hoped that the skills of the MV Crew are expected. Meratus Benoa in carrying out the treatment. However, due to several factors, its application has not been fully implemented by the crew/officer who is in direct contact with the fire extinguishers properly, so there are fire extinguishers that are not in good condition. The benefits of such maintenance can ensure the condition of the equipment, so that all equipment is always in Good Condition and Ready to Use. In the maintenance of fire extinguishers or Fire Fighting Appliance crew MV. Meratus Benoa must understand how to carry out the maintenance of fire extinguishers properly and correctly.
