Abstract
The Watertight Door is a safety device onboard the ship. This tool serves to hold water from entering the ship's parts. In addition to functioning as a water retainer, it also functions as a noise-canceling device in the engine room. Watertight doors and windows on ships are indispensable pieces of equipment. This door is made using steel material to be strong against water pressure. Thus, watertight door maintenance is very important and must be considered. With the maintenance of a watertight door, safety onboard can be maintained. The purpose of writing this observation or observation is to determine the factors causing damage to the watertight door. maintenance and repairs on watertight doors to support safety on board the ship KN SAR SADEWA 231. These are the objectives of writing this paper. The method of data collection in this paper uses the method of observation or observation. Interview method, documentation method, and literature study. In painting watertight doors must be careful and must be thorough.
