Abstract
Optimizing the Watertight Door System on KM Ships. Panorama Nusantara At PT. Janata Marina Indah Semarang. Accommodation room on a ship is a matter that has been provided to meet the needs so that it needs a strong impermeable door that is suitable for its use so that when sea water or weather is bad, for example it rains very heavily, so that water does not enter the accommodation room. This will greatly affect the quality of the ship because it reduces the level of safety of the ship, age of the ship, and the acceleration of the ship if it does not use good quality and strong waterproof doors. Water Tight Door functions are limiting / locating fire hazards in one of the compartments or limiting inundation after one of the leakage compartments. Water Tight Door Installation consists of equipment with different functions, while between one and the other interconnected so if one component does not work properly, consequently the installation does not work. There are several types of Water Tight Door that are commonly used because it is easy to apply and easy to analyze its effectiveness, such as hinged waterproof door, Water-resistant door being pushed, Hinged waterproof door. In Water Tight Door generally a leak often occurs at the connection of the door rubber and shaft handle, this causes water to enter easily when an accident occurs such as a collision .. An easy way to find a leak by adding the thickness of the Rubber (Seal) (for a new seal), or replace the rubber with a new one (for the repaired door) and if a leak occurs in the Axle Handle section, the way to fix it is by tightening the lock nut from the Axle Handle where the leak occurred Keywords: Damage, Maintenance, Water Tight Door
