Abstract
The fuel tank on the ship is one part of the ship that has a very important role to accommodate the fuel to be used. Before being used, the fuel will go through a purification process using one of the auxiliary aircraft called the Purifier. The use of this clean fuel is to support the operation of the main engine in producing perfect combustion, so that damage to the engine due to the use of unclean fuel can be reduced. The purpose of this paper is to determine the cause of the overflow in the fuel oil purifier. The writing method used is observation, interviews, and materials, namely observing and asking directly the cause of the overflow which is then searched for the cause. The results obtained from this paper indicate that the cause of the overflow is the opening of the bowl, the influence of gravity disc and wear of the main sealring which can have an impact bad for the work of the purifier. This is indicated by the abnormal purification process in the purifier which causes clean fuel not to come out through the clean fuel outlet pipe, which is often called overflow. Therefore, maintenance of the purifier components according to the manual is the right step to improve the performance of purifier. Keywords: Purifier, auxiliary aircraft, overfl
