Abstract

Cargo pump is a type of pump which is principally used for transferring oil and chemicals. products from one tanker to another ship or tank on land. On board the ship there is 1 cargo pump installed in each parallel load tank with one drive source coming from the Hydraulic Power Pack located on the Forecastle. One of the most important parts in a cargo pump is the cargo seal and oil seal which functions to prevent fluid or limit hydraulic oil to the load, which of course there is no damage to this part because it will interfere with the work of the cargo pump itself. Damage to the Cargo Pump Seal is caused by the Mechanical Seal which results in decreased discharging process. Decreased performance of damaged Pumps due to damage to the Cargo Pump Seal which results in hindered ship operations. High calibration caused by pump vibrations during the Discharging process damage to the Bearing. Overcoming and preventing disruption of the Discharging process due to damage to the Cargo Pump Seal. To solve the problems above mismanagement of Cargo Pumps by replacing a new Mechanical Seal. Follow standard procedures in the manual so it does not take longer. At feeding time the cargo pump should increase and decrease the RPM to be done gradually. checking the Mechanical Seals for the purpose of writing. The impact caused by the damage to the seal is a decrease in pump performance, namely the pumped discharge load with a maximum pressure is less than the standard in the manual so that the use process takes longer and makes ship operations obstructed.
