Abstract
Rubber boats are a means of sea transportation that the Basarnas team urgently needs to carry out the rescue process. Outboard engine is an outboard engine type ship drive engine there are two types, namely marine engine type outboard motor engine and motor modified from the land engine. The purpose of writing is to know the components, and maintenance and also to find out the consequences that will be caused if the maintenance of the temple machine is not done properly. In this case, the author identifies what happened during practice. The methods carried out in the collection of system data and maintenance of outboard motors are using observation methods, interview method (interviewing), literature methods (Libray Research), and documentary methods. For the results of the discussion in this Scientific Writing is the cause of damage to the outboard engine, if the outboard engine maintenance is not done properly in addition, repairs to the problematic system and subsequently the maintenance of the motor engine must be carried out following the outboard engine manual book.
