Abstract
A steam boiler or boiler is a closed iron vessel that can convert water into pressurized steam. This auxiliary engine has a main function, namely to help move the main engine or main engine and auxiliary engine. In addition, this machine also functions as a heating medium in the fuel tanks, as a heating medium for the heater in the engine room, and as a seawater heater in the process of making freshwater. The boiler itself is made of iron and steel so that it can withstand high pressure and heat. That way the maintenance and checking on the boiler engine must really be considered. By doing maintenance and checking on the boiler engine, the main machinery on the ship will be able to work optimally. The purpose of this paper is to find out how the role of the boiler and the operation of the boiler on the KMP ship. Jambo X. The data collection method in this paper uses observation or observation methods, interview methods, documentation methods, and literature studies. In this case, the working principle of the boiler is as a water heater to be used as steam or pressurized steam and is used to drive the main engine and auxiliary engines. Boilers also have steps that must be considered before carrying out operations. Boiler operation that is not by the procedure can result in damage to the components of the boiler itself. Then the crew on the KMP ship. Jambo X must really be able to do these operations. In addition, the boiler also requires proper and correct maintenance and repair.
